Mike has made living and working in the outdoors a priority throughout his professional career.  When he's not peering through a camera lens, Mike is tearing up freeride courses to the delight of fans and photographers alike. As a rider, he relies partly on his filmmaker's eye, coming up with sketchy but creative lines. Mike claims that he likes to feel as though he's flying on (sometimes above) his bike, and he always tries to convey that feeling to spectators - whether they're watching in person or on video.  Mike's segment in PROGRESSION - Kranked 6 certainly achieves this. Filmed high above the treelines on Paradise Mountain, Mike rips down the mountain, souring through a timeless and spectacular passage.  You can taste the adrenaline.
Mike is one of the few athletes to be invited to the Redbull Rampage for three consecutive years. Mike scored results of 5th, 8th and 9th in his three appearances, cementing his position as one of the sports most skilled riders.
"It's about going further off the beaten path, riding at the top of my game, and staying far from civilization", explains Mike. "Spending some quality time with my big bike and seeing what we can find together. What feeds me is the natural and unpredictable element of unexplored and un-ridden terrain."
