Eric Porter
Style:  Freeride, Downhill
Hometown:  Park City, Utah

Eric started mountain biking when he was 12 years old, riding the local trails with his friends.  He first discovered freeride by reading magazines and watching some of the first videos like Kranked and Shift and then just going out and trying what he saw.

Now, as an accomplished and diversified mountain bike rider, Eric has made several podium appearances and has been featured in many videos and magazines worldwide. He is also credited with being the first rider to grind handrails on a mountain bike without pegs and the first rider to do flairs on a mountain bike.

For Eric, the ultimate ride would be a trail that had everything in it. Eric set out to accomplish this during the filming of his segment in PROGRESSION - Kranked 6. "The trail is pretty much as close to the ultimate ride as I could get", explains Eric.  "It starts out rocky and nasty, then gets bermy and fast, then all the big jumps and stuff come in. The fast smooth berms and jumps are at the bottom - it pretty much rules!!!.  There were many challenges, though! Wind, rain, weather, snow -  all came together to try and keep us from filming this trail.  We got it done and it turned out pretty sick!"
